Camp Layout

Burning Man is almost here!

During the last camp meeting, Jeff and I talked about a possible camp layout. Here you will see what we came up with. It may look a bit small, but we will figure out exactly how much space we need when we arrive.

As you can see, we are on Dogma at the edge of Hushville. Our left edge will be used to help define a walking/biking path to the center of Hushville.

The camp/park area will consist of two rows, hopefully with some order to the madness. This is where we will set up our personal tents, shade and park our cars. We are guessing that there will be about 17-20 tents of various sizes (since some people are sharing). Please don't be shy about putting your tents relativity close together, we can't waste a bunch of space (Hushville will be crowded by the end of the week). Plus this could allow for more shading opportunities.

I'm leaving an area open on the right of the structure for Danny's art car/van. This probably will also function as an access road until he arrives. So plan your personal layout to allow for this access. The grey water thingy will live between the structure and bike area. The little dot by the road is my interactive art piece, assuming I finish it by then...

Please remeber that this map is approximate but will give us some sense of what the final layout will look like. Be flexible. Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.

One month to go!!!!
Just 31 days until life on the playa begins. It makes me excited and nervous all at once. I have no idea how I'm going to accomplish everything I want to by then. I'm counting on some sort of luck to help me out.

Monkey Camp Logo
Voting is complete and the monkey camp logo has been decided!

I'm excited about this logo, I think it's a good combination of the Burning Man logo and our own monkyiness. Dave is currrently working on a cleaned up a version of this. Both smaller and larger (for printing purposes) versions will be posted as soon as he is finished.

Upcoming Events
Aug. 6 - Bay Area Hushville Party (5:30/6:00 @ Cafe Dunord, 2170 market)
Aug. 10 - Monkey Camp Mailbox decoration/meeting (Time TBD @ Fort Funston)

This year looks like it's going to be a great! We've got a large group with a good mix of first timers and veterans.

Life on the playa is very exciting, but it takes a bit of preparation. The purpose of this site is to keep you informed of the latest goings on within our group, to point you to information that you may want or need, or just as a jumping point for future updates.
